Reefing System on 35.5

I have not used my reefing system on my new to me, 1990 35.5. It looks as though the previous owner did not use it much as well. However, I prefer to have a reef or two available on the main . The sails are not generally left on as the boat is in storage for 10 months out of the year right now

It looks to me like the red/green lines that are terminated at the outside aft of the boom with an overhand knot should be the connection for the clew on each reef.

I am not sure what to do with the tack on the boom, I am assuming there will be a red and green line at the tack and those should be tied to the reef tacks on the main sail. However, I am not at my boat and learning the hard way at the last minute that I don't know what I am doing is not acceptable.

I did not see anything in the manual I had showing the actual deployment of the reef lines. It shows they are led aft, but that's all I saw. Anybody got any pictures of the reefing system in action? Looks like there are a bunch of lines in the boom, with a single line led to the cockpit for each reef line. Bet that's a bummer if you loose the line in the boom. Anybody have some sage wisdom regarding that issue?

There are 4 separate lines for reefing a 35.5, with a sliding double pulley inside the boom. The system has 2 lines coming back to the cockpit.
You can reef easily if everything is working properly.
I have included 2 drawings that are clear I think.

Good luck

Thanks for the great drawing. /?? For you in regards to the friction gained as the line pulls through the cringle or grommet. Is adding a block to the reef grommets on the sail advised to reduce the friction.
