I never had any satisfactory reaction to my initial question regarding
reefing the mainsail on the Vega.. Terms like first reef have no meaning to
me as I have roller reefing I can roll six inches or the whole sail in one
reef.. From Vega newsletters it appears many owners have put in reefing
lines ,some two , some three and some even thinking of having four.
My question is this to all you reefers . When you put in the first reef
in the main.. How much do yo reduce the luff by ?
