My mail sail as one reefing point. There is a hook attached to the mast where I assume the forward reef point attaches. There is no attachment point for the rear reef point. Do you just tie it to the boom?

Reefing point

At the back edge of your main(leech) at the same level as the reef cringle at the front(luff) there should be a cringle pressed or sewn into the sail. A line is attached to your boom below and just aft of this cringle. The line is then run through the cringle and back to the end of the boom where it runs forward to the goose-neck(point were the boom meets the mast). When reefing the luff cringle is hooked onto the rams horns and the line from the back of the boom is pulled very tight. The halyard is then raised to secure the sail. If your leech cringle has been omitted then send your sail back and have it installed. It will also need some reinforcement installed with it to help spread the very high loads on the sail at that point.
