Reefing Lines

When I purchased my 25.5 a month ago, it didn't have any reefing lines run. The topping lift is occupying one of the boom sheeves that I believe was originally used for a reefing line. I'll probably leave it for now and just use one reef.I know that each of the two reefing lines originally ran through the cringle in the leech and down to the end of the boom through a sheeve and to the clutch in the boom near the mast.My question is where did the other end attach? To a padeye on the boom?A picture would be a great answer to this question Thanks,Eric

To a pad ey on the boom

You are correct. You can either tie off to a pad eye on the boom or if the sail has a slit at the foot (or is loose footed) below the clew cringle you can just tie a loop around the boom. I would still run the line through a pad eye on the latter though.
