When I purchased my 25.5 a month ago, it didn't have any reefing lines run. The topping lift is occupying one of the boom sheeves that I believe was originally used for a reefing line. I'll probably leave it for now and just use one reef. I know that each of the two reefing lines originally ran through the cringle in the leech and down to the end of the boom through a sheeve and to the clutch in the boom near the mast. My question is where did the other end attach? To a padeye on the boom? A picture would be a great answer to this question :) Thanks, Eric

To a pad ey on the boom

You are correct. You can either tie off to a pad eye on the boom or if the sail has a slit at the foot (or is loose footed) below the clew cringle you can just tie a loop around the boom. I would still run the line through a pad eye on the latter though.
