I struggle to get my reefing lines to run free through the boom. Is it an option to reduce the lines from 8mm to 6mm? i.e. is 6mm super braid strong enough for reefing lines? If you have any other advice to improve this, I'm willing to try it...

How sure are you that they are not tangled or twisted ? Even 8mm seems small as there is a lot of pressure on that line when the saill is hardened and sheeted in. I have 3/8" reefing lines in my boom and they run freely. Yours should too. Take the end of the boom off to have a better look inside. Good luck

Good advise on checking the inside of the boom as the sheeves should run very easily. The 6mm line will work. It just is harder to grip and might not fit your clutches or V cleats.

I had a Legend 35.5 with reefing lines that seemed to have a lot of friction. I ended up replacing the blocks inside the boom. Made a big difference.
