Reef Lines Length 311

Hi Folks,

I'm looking to replace the two stock reef lines on my B311. I don't believe the lines calculator on this site's store has an estimator for the reefing lines, unfortunately.

I'm going to give it the old tape-measurer effort (or maybe even send a messenger), but was wondering if anyone had done this, or had the correct measurements for the two lines (maybe even on a 323?) to give me a bit of comfort in my own measurements?

Maybe its documented somewhere that I haven't found?

Go measure the existing ones or run a messenger. There are too many boat-specific variables. The biggest one of course being the location of your reef points on your sail.

Yep. Makes sense. Was hoping to have a backup number, though, if someone else had done it on a 311 as the all-stock measurements would have to be close enough to give me an idea if I'm off.

I plan on measuring anyway.

I have a 323 which is very similar and the manual calls out the following dimensions:

Reef1 is 10 mm dia the length is 64 ft 3 5/8 in.
Reef2 is same dia length is 89 ft 10 3/4 in..
Hope this helps

Fantastic. Huge help Doug, thank you. Now I can have a bit more confidence over my measurements.

Interesting the 311 manual has every measurement you can imagine except the reef lines. Like Jackdaw said, they must have had several sail variations and didn't want to publish a single number I guess.
