Has anyone been into Reed Creek, off the Chester River, off the Chesapeake Bay this year? Troubles getting in or out? Depth of channel? My sailing club is going there this weekend.
Ron,
We were there last weekend. We sail a CatalinaMorgan 38 cc and draw 5' 2". From the G 1 follow directly in past the R 2 ( can pass on either side) continue straight until you're abeam of the Duck Blind out in the water and turn 90 degrees to starboard and look for the point and proceed toward it and then another turn to port 90 degrees when your looking into the creek and favor the shore to starbord. When you clear the dogleg there is all kind of water depth in the creek. This is one of our favorite places to anchor. Enjoy.
Thanks Bill. The club was at Sailing Emproium Saturday the 23rd/24th for a dinner party with music. Hope we didn't keep you awake? We'll be back there Aug 18th.
Ron, Do you know about Club Beneteau Chesapeake Bay? We're the largest Beneteau club in the world now according to Beneteau USA. We have raftups and long distance cruises as well as learning seminars in the winter. I just returned from our latest cruise to New York for the 4th of July along with 10 other boats. Check us out at CB2.org.
Scott, I'm in CB2. You'd know me if you saw me. I did the last DMV circle. This past weekend, 22 SOS boats went to Reed Creek while CB2 canceled due to weather.... Thanks Bill for the info. I had sent it to the paticipating skippers, and I heard it referred to on the VHF. No one went aground.
