Reduced size table

Has anyone reduced the size of the table on their Cat 22? I realize the current table is lowered and used to make a bed, but I never camp on the boat. I watched a U-tube video in which a guy cut his table in half. It allows people to comfortably sit in the cabin and still use the table if needed. I'm curious to hear the dimensions if anyone has done this. I'm thinking 18" long and I think the width is 24". The guy added a side leg, attached to the seating area. I think for those of us who daysail, it would be a good option. If needed, you could store the original table for use when camping. Has anyone done this?

I commented in another post but I ended up using an 18" x 24" cutting board I got off amazon. I bought a second table leg for Catalina direct as I wanted to keep my original table intact to use in the cockpit. Also got a second set of attachment brackets from them as well. Really opened up the cabin and I don't sleep in that location so it works. Id say your measurements are spot on. You can see more photos in this older post: Spring refit done, time to go sailing ⛵

Thank you. That is exactly what I will do. Great ideas on the cutting boar and attaching hardware and post.
