redesigned shoal keel

Sir: Would you have any advise on buying a boat that has had the shoal keel modified. The owner has had the swing keel on a "78 Oday 25 removed and redesigned the shoal keel. It appears to have been professionally done. It looks real good. The botom of the shoal keel has what looks like a round edge all around. The over all condition of the boat is almost excellent. If it was designed rather than just hung there, it might not adversely effect the sailing characteristics of the boat. Only way to find out for sure is test sail it.

that looks like a fin not a shoal keel but if the hull was properly modified i dont see a problem
