Recently flooded my engine with fresh water while on hard-stand (water hose connected to water intake). Have following advice: 1) NEVER CONNECT WATER HOSE TO INTAKE ON ENGINE THAT IS NOT RUNNING 2) Engage decompressors and turn engine over (do not try to start a flooded engine directly-- water cannot compress and your connecting rods will bend) 3) After initial drain, check oil level (if grey sludge water contamination in oil). You can start engine for short period to completely drain water from cylinders 4) Drain oil & filter, take out air filter element and dry. 5) Run engine to operating temp 6) Drain oil & filter. Run engine again. 7) Drain oil & change filterIf lucky no damage will result. Any comments?
