I recognize that this information is specific to my location but wanted to pass it along anyway. I've posted in the past about my general distaste for all the boatyards in the Los Angeles harbor area. Well, I'm completing a long overdue haulout - relaunching tomorrow - and I wanted to sing the praises of King Harbor Marine Center in Redondo Beach.
Their prices are reasonable, nearly half the cost of certain L.A. Harbor yards for the same work. Want to do your own work? No problem. You can drive in the yard and park right next to your boat. The yard is secure, key available if you want to work after hours. Their travelift is in good condition, the lifting operation was worry-free. What else can I say? If you're planning a haulout, it's worth a call.
