Hello everyone.... After browsing the canvas section and not seeing much, I thought I'd post here. Just bought a 26M 2004 and am in need of a boat cover during non-use of the boat. What is everyone else out there using? Is there something nice I can order that is an alternative to having a custom cover made? Thanks for any feedback, Adam

canvas garage

I'm using a canvas garage, similar to the type seen at home depot, harbor freight, or nothern tool. I just raised the verticle legs 5' and drive trl under. (I still use a blue tarp, as the canopy lenght is only 20' so the bow sticks out a little. some fabricate a pvc web over the boat for the winter, and knock off snow as needed. your concern is snow, or sun protection?

I use a

cheapo blue tarp...gotta love Big Lots! It forms a "tent" over the mast and the snow slides off...and I mean SNOW! Never thought about getting any fancier...

Thanks for the feedback....definitely for sun cover....during the winter I am going to trailer it another location on the coast, free from snow. I like the idea of a canvas cover, I'm going to see if there is something that will work for the 26'.... Adam

Now that I think about it...

I think I saw a cover for the 26 in the Blue Water Yachts Catalog...don't know if it will fit the M, but wouldn't hurt to ask them. www.bwyachts.com

Sail Warehouse has one

The Sail Warehouse (Monterey, CA; www.thesailwarehouse.com; 831 646-5346) has a cover in their catalog, pg 40, for the 26X at $635. It can be used for highway and storage, they say. Hope this helps.

Tarp

I use a blue plastic tarp and hold it down with milk jugs full of water, I drape it over the mast, and I can still work on it when at home, nd I stay dry. When it's hot, I admit, that it gets stuffy, but I look at it like a built in sauna. :)
