I'd like to replace my depth and speed while I am at it so I was thinking about a package (wind/depth/speed) deal.

I'd like to stay around 1500

What say you?

depends on what your connecting it up to - I went with a Raymarine bundle - depth, speed, temp + wind speed & Direction + Seatalkng box (NMEA 2K) - but I'm talking to Raymarine display heads. One thing that will bite - is even if all instruments are NMEA 2K - and can display the parameters just fine - it often takes a head/MFD from the Manufacturer to calibrate the instrument. IE - if you are 100% B&G - but put the Raymarine in for instruments above - you would need to buy an i70 to calibrate things, and a Raymarine MFD to update the devices firmware without sending it to the factory...

From the PO AutoHelm depth, speed and auto helm equipment was installed.

Not sure of the pricing, but we like our Tacktic instruments. No wiring makes installation a lot easier.

I have considered wireless. Have you had any reliability issues with the signal and accuracy?

The longest month I ever spent on a boat were the 7 days sailing up the Windwards with a non-functioning Tack-Tic wireless wind vane and anemometer! Maybe I didn't have the right right IP address or perhaps the dip-switches were off to Carnivale?
These days my Raymarine wireless autopilot remote sits mostly unused in it's cradle because it has a reliability factor approaching .50. More like a gee-gaw than a tool. Glad wireless works for others.

With the Tacktics we did have some issues initially - about 8 years ago now. Had to replace a sending unit that...wasn't. Company took care of it. Have had no prlbms since. Accuracy has been fine after the units were calibrated properly (matching readings to GPS speeds w/o current in various directions, etc.)
