Looks Familiar
That picture looks really familiar. I am from Halifax, and I grew up sailing on Mahone Bay, in Lunenburg county. I believe my yacht broker (who lives across the street) has a copy of the same boat on his wall. It definitely looks like a Lunenburg Schooner, from 1910-1930, but its hard to say. William Roue was the pre-eminent Lunenburg designer of the first half of the century, he built the Bluenose and many other very fast fishing and racing schooners. My family owned a Bluenose class one design racing sloop (23'11") for about 20 years, and the class is still very active in Nova Scotia. For Chester Race Week on Mahone Bay, they get 30-40 Bluenose class racing boats a year for one design racing. In fact, there is a company in Halifax who bought the rights to the old designs, and is manufacturing new Bluenose class racing boats (out of fibreglass). There are lots of Internet resources on William Roue, and it may be worth looking around. I will let you know if I find out anything. The Bluenose 2 (a replica of the famous schooner still sails up and down the Eastern seaboard of Canada and the US, and is a tourism ambassador for Nova Scotia. She is not as fast as her namesake, but she still flies.
