Recaulking the Genoa Track

As a part of the post winter evaluation, I am considering recaulking the genoa tracks as there were leaks somewhere from the deck on both sides of the boat. What is a methodical approach to the recaulking process? What is involved in taking off the genoa track to recaulk it? What type of tools does one need to do such a project? What are the "wish you hadn't started the project and farmed it out instead" scenarios?

May not be the genoa track

My problem on the Hunter 29.5 was water seeping in under the rubrail because the calking had deterioriated over the years. I cleaned it out well and recalked with LifeSeal clear, doing a rather splendid job using that little red calking tool. Now the boat is dry for the first time in ten years and I can't stop telling people about it, I'm so proud.
