A few months ago there was a thread concerning the fuel consumption of the Yanmar one cyl. There was some variation in opinions. Saturday I did my seasonal refueling and it took 6.3 gallons for 28.5 hours of operation. Andy Baroque

What is "seasonal" refueling?

I have a one cylinder diesel on my h-27 (1992). What is seasonal refueling? Do you run all your fuel out each year? If so, when is the best time to do this? thanks. John

Seasonal refueling is...

...refueling once a year. I sail all year round and my time to refuel is usually in October. I use about 10 gals each year. I try to drain the remainder of fuel from my fuel tank and give it to someone with a diesel truck to burn, I then put in fresh fuel for the next year's sailing. That is seasonal refueling.

Thanks.

Thanks for the response. I'll do something similar. John
