I'd like to rebed the stanchions on my O'Day 34 but it looks like I will have to unbolt the deck to do so. Does anyone know a realistic way to do this? Also I need to order a new hatch for my boat. I know their is someone with D&R Boats who handles parts but I lost his name and number, that would also be a help. Thanks, Tom

D&R's fellows name is Rudy

Rudy is the person you want to talk to at D&R Marine; after you get an answer to your question concerning rebedding the stanchions, please send me an e-mail and let me know how involved the process is likely to be. I am considering doing the same thing on my boat. Best Regards, Ozzie

rebed stanchions

Been there and done that. Don't unbolt the deck - yikes!! All the thru bolts for the stanchions are accessable - it's not easy but you can reach up from inside the cabin and get to them. Rudy sells gaskets which worked well for me.

How done on a 37?

I have two bent stanchions on the starboard side, the one at the gate and the next obne forward. Errant jib sheet. I would like to remove them and straighten or replace them but I can't. The through-bolts seem to be glassed over on the inside. I have rebedded the pulpit bases without trouble. If anyone can tell me how to get the stanchions out I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Thanks, I have tried reaching from inside but can't feel anything. I'll try again, and bring lots of nuts and washers, I have a feeling I'll need them if I can find the bases. Can a wrench fit up where I'll eventually find them?
