Rebedding stanchions on 1984 23-2

So, how do I get to the nuts/backing plates? It looks like they are under the liner material. Do I cut holes, peel it back then re-glue, or?

When I did mine I only needed to remove the carpet headliner for many of them. The rest were beneith vinal plugs that I removed then put back afterward. I was able to access all of them without cutting any holes. I have a 1980.

Feel around, you might find that there are cut outs already.

Scott, did you just re-glue the carpet with contact cement?

Yes, contact cement is all you will need.
