Fill the hole with epoxy or even polyester. If you use poly it will probably settle in and you will have to do a second fill. The hole seems sort of small so you may need to enlarge the hole. After it is set drill a small pilot hole and screw it in. The thread on the snap fitting looks a little bad so a new fitting would be in order.
Replace it
Replace the type on the left with the type on the right. See Pic.

Those are much more rugged but often you will now have three holes as opposed to one in order to get it to line up.
