I need to rebed the genny tracks on my Legend 37.5 before I button her up for the winter. I have a break in the weather and plan to do this chore this week-end. I have learned from this web site that the tracks are attached with machine screws tapped into a metal plate embedded in the deck. Seems relatively straight forward to remove. I also know that when I put the track back down, I need to seal the screw holes with bedding compound. I do have a couple of questions on this procedue:How do I remove the old bedding compound from the deck? My current thinking is plastic putty knives. While I do not know what bedding compound was used by the previous owner, are there any generic chemicals (i.e. acetone, paint thinner, goo gone)I can try that would expedite the process? The track is probably 8 to 9 feet long. Is there any way I can put bedding compound on the bottom of the track and reset the track in the correct position without the help from another person? Finally, if I remove the track and find I do cannot reinstall until the spring, what is the best way to seal the screw holes? I am leaning toward a high quality duct tape, but would prefer something that would not be as difficult to remove.
