rear cutlass bearing with fitting

I am a novice, building a George Bueghler design on a budget. I am ready to align the 1 1/4" prop shaft and mate it to my transmission. I am in need of a brass/bronze fitting at the rear of my (double ender's sternpost) wooden shaft opening that will hold the 1 1/4" shaft cutlass bearing (cutlass bearings seem easy to acquire). I cannot seem to find a salvage yard, nor a used fitting on ebay. Needs to have two lags screw holes in the vertical face plate. Thanx for any aid.

You will probably want bronze, not brass when you locate something. Try Jamestown ...

To start, you NEED bronze, NOT brass! Do not use brass aboard if you plan to keep the boat for any time.

Not sure about your design, but normally, at least in a lot of the boats I have seen, the cutlass sticks out about 1/4 inch aft of the deadwood.
