Laurie and I put the Hunter in the water this weekend, and took it out for a short sail. For some reason we started talking about how there was a little too much twist in the sail. It made me realize that there must have been a boom vang at some time. There is an attachment point on the boom, but none at the bas of the mast. Did the H23.5 come with a boom vang? If so, where does it attach to the base of the mast?

Ha! We have the mating halves!

Can't help you with the question, but our H23 has the mast base connector but nothing on the boom. Say Hi to Boat Babe and Brian. Good luck, Chris

Anyone know where to get a replacement strap?

My 240 is also missing the boom vang strap. I have the vang, so I just rigged somthing up to attach the vang to the hinge pin. Anyone know where I could get a replacement strap? Thanks!

Thanks for the responses.

Ed, Good point on the raising and lowering. I bought the boat lowered, so I will search the boat for an item you are describing. Chris, I hear you. Maybe your boom was replaced at some time and an attachment point was not included. I am hoping to get down to St. Augustine in the next few weeks to conduct some more testing of the SolarStik. Fair winds, Bob

Vang Toggle

Joe, If you can't find the part Ed A. described you can order it from US Spars. Item# 561 Rigid Vang Toggle. The price was 5.97 two years ago when I bought one.
