Just wanted to mention how much I appreciate this forum. It's a tremendous wealth of information and experience. Recently, I was browsing the archives and came across several threads about rotted compression posts on this model boat. The photos were enough to scare me into opening up my post only to discover much the same problem. Had it not been for this forum I'd never have thought to check this out. Identifying the problem was just the first step. There were some very informative threads showing how others had made their repairs. I've pulled the compression post, only to discover the portion of the bulkhead hidden behind the post had rotted away as well. Now I've pulled the bulkhead for replacement. Whether someone has already undertaken the task of replacing this bulkhead I'm not sure. I'll chronicle the process here with plenty of photos in case anyone else is contemplating the same.
