Hi David,Yes, almost all Vega leaflets report a displacement of 2.3 tons.I have a Vega series III (N° 3339) and it weighted 2.5 tons, empty, with the original MD7A engine and Combi transmission. Now I replaced it with a Beta 14 so it should be about 65 kg less.I asked around but had no explanation for the difference in displacement. Maybe the 2.3 tons refer to the Vega series I with petrol engines (lighter?). Arend Schram from the Dutch Vega Club applied more than 70 "help rudders" to Vegas. To do that he had to drill a hole on the rear part of the hull, in the midline. The thickness of the fiberglass at this level appeared fairly variable among the 70 hulls he drilled. Maybe this also can explain the difference in weight.I do not know if osmosis and water absorption from the hull can explain such an increase of weight, but osmosis is considered rare (3%?) on Vega hulls.Fair winds from Albin Vega 3339 - Spraymarco
