Thanks for the post. I nearly always get to the end of those "historic finds" articles and want to know/read more. Imagine sailing thousand(s) of miles in an open boat and then still being able to "kick the snot" out of most groups you meet. (Not that I advocate that in most cases!) It is amazing how much we don't know about the past centuries of human existance and sailing activity.
Our personal sailing adventures help us shine a dim light of understanding and empathy onto the skills and daring of many groups of ancient mariners.

Chris....the park on the banks of the river by the Harriahan bridge in Memphis is named DeSoto park but you know how us hillbilly's are we may have had it incorrect all theses years
