Reading serial number on an O'Day 272

How do you read the serial number on an O'Day 272. I am looking to add sail number(s) and the hull number would be appropiate.The number reads XYDF0054A686Appreciate the information.

My 1986 272 is XDYFC211E686. What year was your boat built? Maybe the sail number would be 054. Just a guess.
