Call Hunter and. . .

check the Forum Archives. The Link below is one example. I was never able to get values for my H37C. But you will see one reply where someone called Hunter and did get a number. I just keep mine tight and check then annually.

Keel bolts

Don't believe you will get anyone to commit to a figure on keel bolts. The primary reason is that "stainless"steel in the absence[sp] of oxygen, such as a nut on a bolt and in a moist enviorement develops corrosion or gaulling[sp] which would make a tourque spec not valid. I would do as Ed suggested and for peace of mind check tightness as often as you feel comfortable with. There would have been a torque value on new clean bolts but that would not apply to your situation.

For Comparison

Recommend calling Hunter for torque values as they provided me the following: Small keel bolts = 1-1/2 inches (I think was 225-ft-lbs.) Large keel bolts = 1-7/8 inches, torque to 400 ft-lbs (cheater bar required). These figures are for a 1988 Hunter Legend 35. Since the bolts were too long for any sockets I could find I made my own by buying a standard 3/4-inch drive socket and cutting the driver portion off and welding a section of pipe in between the two parts. See picture attached.
