Re-Stringing Reefing Line in Boom

I have a 2002, Catalina 270. The reefing line came out of the sail and into the boom. When I tried to retrieve it I got just and end that was already attached to the boom. I tried to snake the line back through with no luck. I see in the drawing in the manual that there is a tie of two lines inside the boom. Any ideas how to re-string this back up? Right now all I have is the rear reef line running through the boom and back into the block on deck. Nothing for the luff of the sail near the mast. Thanks.

Prior owner removed the reefing lines from our Capri 22 boom. I had to take the ends off to re-run them. Found out the hard way there was a pin holding the aft sheaves in. Oops!
