Greetings All,

For those of us who cringe at the price of sails and know how to sew check
out www.sailrite.com you can buy kits for about half the price of a new sail
and all you do is give them the measurements for a vega (found in manual)
they send it precut and you stitch it together. I havent used them yet but
will when I go to get a storm sail. I was referred to them from my father
who ordered his 150 from them.

IRT the Chesapeake rendezous still working on it. Unfortunately I dropped
my cell phone overboard just before I went on patrol so I havent gotten past
picking the general area (Solomons Island, MD). Dave Fuchs if you can check
out which marinas have a few transient slips available or possibly suggest
areas for an anchorage/rafting up. I'll be gone again from late may till
first week in aug. I'll get jpeg chartlets made up this coming week. And
email to any who request one.

Sorry for the delay guys,

If the Chesapeake Rendezvous is going to be late in the season, Labor Day or the weekend after, I'm going to be on the mainland again (Halfway there) on another business trip Sept. 15-18 so I can probably make it. Keep me posted so I can publish the info in the newsletter.

Hi Chuck,

I decided I really should join the American Vega Association - it
sounds like you offer more things we Vega owners need than can be found
on the newsgroup...

Anyway, I am (want to be) a new member in the US. Let me know what info
you need and where to send the check.

P.S.: I tried to send this message to you privately, using the
"vega1860..." email address, but it bounced with a "failure notice"
saying
"Remote host said: 550 INCORRECT DOMAIN IN MAIL/RCPT COMMAND"
I suspect that there is a problem with the period at the very end of
your email address?

Dear Chuck,
Thanks for the CD, I spent all night looking
through the picture gallery and am determined to make
at least one rendezvous. It looks so beautiful up there
in Port Browning. Los Angeles is not a cruising area
really we just go out the breakwater and we're in the
Pacific Ocean swell, dodging container ships and
peering through the haze/smog. The winds are however
very predictable.Last weekend we dropped the sails to
rescue 12 passengers of a burning 40' launch, the
firefighters were huge entertainment for my 5 year
old. I guess thats one of the advantages of "cruising"
on the busiest port in the country.

P.S. does anyone know what boat builder the
letters-ARNDT orARNDTBT represent.__________________________________
