Thanks for all the helpful response to my question about unstepping the
mast. Thanks Arne for your step-by-step (off group). Thanks Chuck and

I lowered my mast using exactly this method. Taken carefully, with
an able assistant standing by, we had the mast down and stowed in 90
minutes with a minimum of effort. Of course, I had to build the 'A'
frame first!
