Hi Ed and Steve,

Thank you for the replies. Ed, the suggestion to borrow the port side grease fitting made life much easier to grease the propellor hub. Steve, how much is too much for the combi? Seeing that we have mid May to the beginning of Oct. as a sailing season is the amount in the manual a bit on the high side especially if one is only out on an average of say once or twice week? Have to have flying time too.

Thanks to you both. Iver

Hi Iver

I prefer the combi to be about half-full with grease only. It does not take a lot of wear but you can force the lip seals out when moving the lever if completely full. The boss should be toatlly pumped with grease until it starts to come out around the base of the baldes and the large bolt at the rear of the boss. Hope thsi helps.

Hi Steve,
this discussion of greasing the combi is interesting. I was pumping
grease into the combi and did not know when to stop. So how do you
know when it is half full?

Regarding the propeller hub, I usually just remove the adapter from
my grease gun and the thread of the grease gun can be screwed
directly into the propeller hub.
