Just bought a Widgeon and though the sails are in great shape the Red W and the Blue Circle is very faded. Any ideas on how to restore the logo?

I was just going to recommend SAIL-RITE! I actually have bought their sticky-backed Dacron to use for repairing rips and seams on my boat's sails. It works great. They might even be able to send you a pre-cut WIDGEON Insignia? Worth calling to check, may cost a bit more, but would save having to trace and cut it yourself. I know that I got a quote from them for a kit to sew a new jib for my old Widgeon.

If the insignia is that faded, the sails probably look like a balloon made of bedsheets. I'd consider new sails.

I'm interested in painting on the sails. Is this a viable option for renewing a faded insignia?

You might have to use an oil-based paint because water-based tends to bleed on Dacron fiber.
