Today I was able to re-Install the Profurl roller furler by myself. It was not too bad of a job and it wasn't as complex as I thought that it would be. I used red locktite onthe set screws.

All that is left to do is the packing gland and I will to that tonight or tomorrow.

Congrats on getting it sorted out. What did it finally take to get the part inserted? Don't keep me in suspense!

A block of wood and a rubber mallet. I tapped it in slowly and once it was in it worked great

I managed to get the packing gland done today. That was one hell of a job. I am glad that one is done!

Were you able to get the top swivel off while the mast was still on the boat or did you have to have the mast pulled to do the work. I am curious because I have the same unit that you do and want to replace the bushing in my swivel as well.

Thanks,
Kevin

Just put a halyard to the front cleat and tighten it. You can take the foil apart once you detach the forestay. When that is done you can remove all the extrusions and pieces and then put the forestay back. I did it all with the mast up and removed it with the boat in the water.

OK, so after using the jib halyard as a temporary forestay, did you detach the wire forestay at the deck or di you go up the mast and detach the stay at the mast head?

Loosen your shrouds and backstay as necessary on your boat to get some slack in the forestay. Then use a halyard, attached to the bow where the forestay is already attached if possible to that chainplate. Cleats can be pulled from the deck with a halyard because they aren't designed to be pulled up.
If all you want to do it replace the swivel bearing, I would go to the top of the mast and pull the top of the stay.

I just installed a C320 a couple of weeks ago. On that model you can dissasemble the drum and the parts under it without removing the bottom wire terminal. Then the swivel would slide down off of it and allow you to remove it and work on it.
But I don't mind climbing the mast and working up there, so how I would do it is; disconnect the stay at the top, you can pull the black halyard preventer that is attached to the stay and the swivel slides off with out removing anything else.

What "setscrews" did you adjust/tighten? The screws that keep the drum asembly off the rest of the gear have to fit into holes that YOU drill. My PO didn't, in fact none of the Pos had done that, and until I and a smarter friend discovered the problem, the furler was a PIA. Works great now. You probably have it right, but I felt a small chill in the back of my neck when I saw "setscrews". Happy Sailing.
