I have a '94 Hunter 29.5. The forward cleats are currently located in the anchor locker. This becomes somewhat inconvenient having to open the anchor locker, trying to grab the docklines, and maintaining your balance. Has anyone with this type of setup ever decided just to rebed the forward cleats on the outside toe rail? If so, I need specifics (how, what did you use as a bedding compound etc., level of difficulty etc...). Thanks in advance.

Another idea.

Tim: Have you considered placing a single large cleat aft of the anchor locker and then place a chock on each side to guide the lines back to the cleat. This may give you a stonger mounting point for the cleat and the chock only need to have enough strength to guide the line. They will still need to be through bolted but this may be easier than using a cleat in that area.

Forward Cleats

Check with Hunter, or TBM might know, on some hulls, Hunter has already embedded Aluminum blocks in the toe rail. You would have to locate them then drill and tap for new cleats.

Cleats

Tim, last season i added cleats mid ship. I contacted hunter and they sent me cleats and aluminum plates pre drilled. I use 3m 5200 or 5300 beddding compound and thur bolted them. The Cleats in the anchor locker are a drag. Craig
