One of the sound-insulation panels in the engine room of my H44 has fallen off. I tried reattaching it using rubber cement, but that failed, probably due to the fairly high temperature in the engine room. Any suggestions on what glue to use?
When I replaced mine 2 years ago I didn't want to trust just the adhesive so I got some plastic inserts (hollow 3/4inch tubes), screws and washers. Punch some holes with a pencil, push in insert, run screw with fender washer through insert into plywood. The plastic inserts kept the screw from grabbing the foam and twisting.
