Dear Judy and Brian,
Count us (and the "City Zoo") in for Otter Bay on September 4,5 & 6!
Happens to be Bear's birthday (9.5) weekend and can't think of a more
fitting way to celebrate! Really looking forward to seeing lots of
VEGAtarians there!

On another subject, has anyone any advice re: replacing the plastic,
adjustable air vents through the cabin roof in the head, as well as
the port side of the forward v-berth, just forward of the locker?
While the stainless(?) domes on the deck still seem in fine shape,
the workings of the plastic fittings have crumbled with age and are
leaking badly.

Judy and Bear: The plastic vent replacement is a Beckson Vent-O-Mate, $24.95
from Defender. Get the white plastic one without a new stainless cover - the
old one fits perfectly. A new one with the stainless cover is double the
price. I replaced mine a couple of years ago, and it was a simple thing. Bill

Hello Mitzi / Bear:

Glad to hear that you will be attending the VEGAtarian Rendezvous in
September (4,5,6)at Otter Bay. We choose Otter Bay just because Trish
and Gene Suess mentioned it as a safe, nice, quiet, family
oriented...what am I saying? This will be a true test of VEGAtarian
solidarity - setting examples for the children and / or grandchildren
in most cases - curfew anyone? Hopefully we will have the opportunity
to see Lorna Doone before she is whisked away across the sea or???
Need a crew member Chuck?...And Bill Bach...we hope you will attend
too as we have not had the pleasure of your company for several
years...and Ken Preston...let's compare Lyra's...Jim and
Gloria...Just leave the boat on the trailer and bring it North...and
everyone else....Looking forward to the summer....

Cheers

We'll sail, or we'll fly over and leave her in Honolulu for another year. We both have a lot of complex carreer issues gong on at the moment and its impossible to tell how it will all turn out. All I can say is that its all very exciting, especially for Laura, and if everything comes together we'll have the freedom we've always dreamed of.

I need to talk to Gene about Lorna Doone. I have myself convinced that I need two Vegas now. (Forgive me Gene but I just got back from Orlando this morning and I have to get back on an airplane at 0800 on Tuesday to go to a product review in Las Vegas. I'll be back home on Saturday night and I'll call you or email as soon as I can catch my breath.)

I'll fill you all in at the Rendezvous.

Aloha a hui ho

Chuck
