Re: Crank for roller reefing

Hello, I am hoping that someone can help me locate a crank for the roller- reefing on a type III Vega 27.

My guess is that it looks something like a winch handle.

My boat is a 1977, #3207and has a Seldon mast. (The crank fits into a, "knuckle" on the forward face of the mast)

Perhaps somebody changed over to Jiffy-reefing and still has the crank that they would be willing to sell?

Thanks for the help, Bryan

Bryan, buy a star bit winch handle that floats at West Marine.com and then have someone grind off the 4 intermediate star points. Then you'll have a square handle that will fit in the reefing turn point on the mast. It works because I dropped my original handle overboard and had to fabricate the new handle.
