The early Vegas had a very thick coat of gelcoat. Lyrics developed numerous
areas of crazing (small cracks in the gel coat). These were routed out with
a dremel tool and filled with epoxy after all of many, many layers of bottom
paint were removed with a chemical stripper. The hull was then barrier
coated with 3 coats of epoxy (sanded lightly between coats). Next time the
boat was hauled that stuff still managed to work its way out. I only have it
on the aft end of the keel though. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.
