Roy, Not counting the ends my pole is 8 feet 11 1/2 inches long. The outside
diameter is 2 3/8 inches.
Each end of the pole starts to taper approximatley 11 1/4 inches from the
end and tapers down to 1 1/2 inches outside diameter.
The bridal set up starts with an eye strap riveted to each end. The first
rivet for the eye strap is 2 1/4 inches from the end. The wire looks to be
7X19 5/32. Nicropress swaged thimbles on each end of the two wires with the
middle connection to a 2 1/2 inch stainless ring. Cut the wires at 60 inches
to allow for passing through the nicropress sleeve and around the thimbles.
180 degrees from the side the bridal is on and in the middle of the tube a
small padeye is riveted on. If you are going to try and make your own pole
use eye straps and a padeye that call for #10 fasteners. 3/16 inch pop
rivets can be used to hold them on.
Hope this has been clear enough to go on. The pole I have came from another
Vega and I can't swear that is origional equipment but it seems to work
okay. It is by Procter and has the gold anodizing.
Now to the Tinker. Ebay has a listing for a Tinker with sail rig and life
raft kit. It's in Portsmouth Virginia. USA. (Sorry Brits, a different
Portsmouth but named after the orgional.) Buy it now price is $2800.00 Go to
sporting goods and scroll down to canoes, kayaks and rafts. Hit on
inflatable rafts and type in tinker. 3days and 8 hours left as I write this.
