Judy did you see my message of Jan. 24? I did not notice a reply.
For the rendezvous you got outside responses from 3 people, 2 voted
for July 20 and one for Aug 2, so your Jan. 30 message set it at Aug.
2 what sort of democracy is that.

Hello John:

I hope I am not speaking out of turn, and please don't take this as a
criticism.I am sure that Judy will respond to your query but I would like to
give my perspective.
Organizers don't live in a democracy, they try to reach consensus among
members of a group and eventually reach an executive decision based in part
on feedback and on personal schedules. That is the position I took last
year. I know that Judy lives in the Seattle area and it would be a long hike
to arrange the Rendezvous head back home and then start her holiday at a
later date. The rendezvous makes a great starting point. It is a holiday
weekend for Canadians which makes it easier for us to make the passage to
the San Juans.
I was hoping to meet you at the Rendezvous this year John, however if that
is not possible, I have too possible solutions. First I would like to sail
to Ganges after the Rendezvous on our way to Desolation Sound. Perhaps we
(there may be several of us including Judy, maybe Peter Bell, Mitzi?) can
stop in for drink and dinner at the pub?? Second...How would you like to
organize the rendezvous for 2003 in Ganges? Pick a date that works for you
and throw it out...with a little bit of luck...
I hope to see as many VEGAtarians as possible this year so jump in...is
organizing a rendezvous a democratic undertaking or? Would this be a poll
thing?
