Hello Steve.
Yes, thanks to one of those 'long arm of coincidence' occurrences and purely by accident I do know some details of what happened. I was talking to a boat owning colleague at my current place of work explaining that I had owned a Vega and sold her recently and it transpired that another individual who overheard our discussion was the present owners step father!
As I understand it the prop and shaft were wrecked in the 'accident' but perhaps a more modern and lighter build boat would not have withstood the impact. I believe that due to the extent of the damage Dan has taken the opportunity to renew the entire drive train (with a Beta?).
At least everybody was safe and Alkira has lived to 'fight another day'. I spoke to Dan quite recently and he is currently still in Neyland.
Best regards to all.
