Hello again. Just a quick update on this issue, I removed the coolant
drain plug assembly and still nothing drained out. Access to the
opening is incredibly difficult. I tried coathangers, ardox nails,
anything long and pointy, to no avail. Finally, with an extra long 3/8
inch HSS drill bit (bent 90 degrees at the end to enable one to turn it
by hand) I started reeming out the opening which was full of ink black
sooty material (anaerobic rust ?) and after a few turns out came a
torrent of coolant! Hurray. Once I reassemble the engine with the
cleaned out exhaust manifold etc.and retest I will let you know if I
have solved the cooling problem. Fair winds. Trevor V2915.
