Re: [AlbinVega] gas tank w/Beta

I also installed a Beta in my Vega "Windhover". I installed a Tempo 11gal
polyethylene tank in the starboard lazarette as far forward as possible on
an 10" wide wood sill that I epoxied to the hull. Leave extra length on the
sill and you can store spare jugs of fuel adjacent to tank. Lash tank to
sill and longitudinal wood deviding panel with nylon straps. On the port
side opposite I created a sill for my batteries. This will balance the
weight of the tank and free up space in battery well in cabin. Important
to have tank as close to centerline as possible to avoid fuel sloshing in
tank which will avoid air being sucked into fuel line when tank is low. In
this regard, the 11 gal tempo fits well and allows room above for
connections and filter mounted to wood bulkhead, but if it would fit, I
would use an even higher and narrower thank to avoid air in suction line
when tank is low. This was a big problem for me before I replaced the
original tank which was low and long and located at the gunwale of the
starboard lazarette.

Am very pleased with my Beta's performance and the ease at which it was
installed.
Any other questions, just holler.
