A good way to solve some of the combi unit manuevering
problems is to install a seperate throttle control. A
vernier control by Morse works quite well. Mount on
either side of cockpit. I mounted ours on the
starboard side opposite the factory control. A 10 ft.
cable will suffice. A seperate throttle control
allows you to set engine speed and then work the prop
according to your needs. With a little practice going
in reverse is a lot easier and really will impress the
gang on the dock as you manuever around. I have
passed the info about the shaft seal and the throttle
control to other boat owners, some have tried both and
have had good results. Ken AKVAVIT 1869
