Raytheon Pathfinder Radar/Chartplotter info

needed. I have one installed on my 460 and am not really satisfied with it. However, having only used it for a short time this past season there's still more to learn. My major complaint with it is that with the Cmaps you don't have the versatility of the different range settings that I had on my Garmin. For example...you can use 1/2 mile range, 3/4 mile range then when you go to 1 1/2 mile it says NO ChART DATA. The same goes with 3 mile range. The next increment is 6 mile. My experience is that you coming into some harbors you need more than 3/4 mile range but less than 6 miles. Am I doing something wrong, or is it just the way it is? I called Cmap and they were no help. Any advise would be appreciated.Mark Johnson

Seperates next time

I too bought the raytheon RL72RC Radar/Chartplotter/GPS and I agree with the previous posts. I would not buy the unit again. Next time I'd get seperate units. The raytheon radar is fine, but the Northstar 952X is the chartplotter for me next time. Wow what a diference, of course it costs a fortune, but is sooooo superior it makes it worth it. But alas my 380 is only a year old and I won't be changing the electronics so I've learned to deal with the shortcomings of the chartplotter.If you can change your package before commissioning I would do it.Just my 2 centsBob KnottH380

No Problem

I have the same equipment and do not have the problem you are having. I have full range changes. Occasionally if you are at the edge of a detailed chart then part of the screen will say no chart data. If you increase range and then come back down that usually solves the problem. I would talk with Raytheon.
