I want to put a raymarine wind vane on the mast of my hunter 23. Is there a way to run the cable through the cabin top so that I can step the mast up and down? Through deck fitting?

We have several Sea Dog Cable entry fittings on deck with a junction box below. We pull the cable thru when stepping the mast. You could consider a plug above the deck with the deck sealed with the cable fitting

I mounted the Raymarine junction box on the side of the mast with wires inside the mast terminating there. The wires from the cabin come up through a water tight fitting. It takes about 2 minutes to pull the cover and connect the color coded wires to the terminal block and reinstall the cover. I thought about some sort of plug but they always corrode and the signal is in the millivolt range. Leave enough wire, in mast and cabin, to clip the ends if they corrode.
