Raymarine to Garmin backbone

Does anyone know what the adapter would be that would connect a Raymarine backbone to a Garmin. The Tee connectors are different and I am not finding one listed to do that. The whole point of the NMEA protocol is interconnectivity between manufacturers. I could have gone through Ray tech support, but they can be slow to respond and I am sure I am not the first to struggle to find this out. If there are any 2K wizards out there where would one use an in line terminator that has a backbone connection on one side and a spur on the other and yet it is called a terminator. This a a learning curve I wish was in the rear view mirror!

Raymarine uses SeaTalkNG cables that are not compliant with standard N2K micro or mini N2K cables. You will need a Raymarine Devicenet Adapter Cable (STng to N2K) in either male of female depending upon what you are connecting to. If connecting to a typical N2K tee there are usually two females and one male so a male Devicenet cable like the A06046 would usually be the go-to drop cable.

Thanks, I knew it was a bit squirrely and certainly not obvious. I liked the EV-400 and thought the interconnect would have been made easier. Any idea about the inline terminator? Is it just positioned to end the backbone if there was not a tee there?

The A06046 is built as a spur, would that also connect to the in line terminator as it is backbone on one side and spur or terminator on the other white and blue. Hoping to get back to Maine this summer, grew up in Auburn.

Mainsail knows a lot more about this stuff than me but I didn't think Raymarine equipment would communicate with any other manufacturers equipment.

You're thinking about the older, original Seatalk protocol that was invented by Autohelm/Raymarine.
