I got my hands on a raymarine rudder indicator with the atcuator unit and was thinking about installing it on my 83 oday 28. I looked at the edson 270 steering system below the cockpit and the mounting didnt seem to look very simple. I was wondering if anybody has any backgroud on this installation and if it might improve the st4000 wheelpilots peformance. I read the installation section of the manual and sorta looks like you have to build up a mount so that the actuator will line up correctly to the pully and wheel movements. Anybody have some suggestions?
