I have a "new" boat - actually it was built in the fall of last year, and it has ST 80 "stuff" on it. Like the look of everything, but have yet to actually sail the boat as it is on land until the spring. The question I have is when I look up info on ST 80 it dosen't exist - seems that it has been replaced with a newer version. Funny, ST 60, and 40 are still around. Anyone know what the story on the 80 is? I have two masterviews, wind machine, depth, speed, key pad, etc. and it is connected to the GPS and Radar. Seems to be quite a nice installation - just not sure what has happened to that line. Thanks for any info.

ST80....

I have been doing a lot of research on the internet in looking for a Raytheon unit's for my boat( see previous post). I have yet to see anything on ST80. I have seen ST40, ST60, and ST90. Good luck, RB

See www.raymarine.com -> Support -> Manuals

You can still download the manuals for the models, and usually the new transducers work with old (in computer years) systems. If you wanted to buy more ST-80 items check ebay, pyacht.com, defender.com, etc... I have ST-50 instruments and have had good luck with pyacht.com for new connectors to add new equipment (chart plotter and new autopilot) that would still be integrated with the old instruments. Works great. Enjoy the ST-80, just because Raymarine decided to upgrade their product line is no reason to be unhappy with your equipment. It should work great. Take care, Scott

State of the art at the time

I understand the answers so far - but I have the manuals and am not worried about new transducers etc. This was billed as state of the art Raymarine last fall, then disapeared from the radar screen. The 40, and 60 remain. I can only guess that the 90 is the replacement - but why? Was there a problem, or what? That is my question. maybe they just tweaked it up a bit and made the 90, but I am wondering if there was a problem, lack of sales or something that was undesirable on the 80's models. Any one out there with the 80 system? Does it function OK or what?
